Proud Parents!!!!

Many people know that we homeschooled Chris and have asked if we also plan to homeschool H. As we are fostering to adopt, H will be legally under the control of the CT Dept. of Child & Family Services (DCF) for quite a while before we will be allowed to adopt her ( bare minimum 1 year- almost certainly longer). And we have already been told that DCF does not believe in homeschooling. However, once she is ours, we will make our decision based on what is in her best interest. We have had excellent results with both options!

Tim, who attended South Windsor schools, is now working on his PhD in Environmental Engineering at U of Iowa.

And Chris, who was homeschooled from first grade until his started community college at fifteen, just graduated with honors from Haverford College. He was as surprised as we were to to learn that he had won the Herman M. Somers Prize in Political Science for the graduating senior who presented the best thesis!!!! Now, if you saw some of his attempts at spelling and writing back when he was eight or nine, you would understand what an extraordinary accomplishment this is!

God has blessed us with two wonderful sons and it has been a joy watching them grow and develop their many talents and abilities. They continue to surprise and awe us with their endeavors and accomplishments!

We are excited that God is bringing H into our lives, and we look forward to getting to know her and helping her to develop to her highest potential.
