Adjustments

Kathy cried most of Tim's senior year of high school, dreading him spreading his wings and leaving the nest. Although the first weeks that he was gone were hard, we saw him fairly frequently- with breaks, holidays, and track meets, and so we gradually adjusted to a single child family.

Then Chris decided to study in Japan for his Senior year. That was even more traumatic, as he spent most of a year half way around the world. But through the magic of IM, we were able to stay connected and we adjusted. Then he headed off to college and we truly had an empty nest. And we adjusted as his visits got farther and farther apart.

So, it was a delightful surprise to see how quickly we adjusted to being all together again this weekend for Chris' graduation!

And soon we will have more adjustments as we add a daughter to our family configuration!
